Live To Love CARE - Gifts for the elderly - April 2020

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, we have initiated a new project dedicated to the elderly and people from at-risk groups. They suffer the most from the crisis due to social isolation. For fear, insecurity and, above all, for protection reasons, they have been staying indoors for weeks or going outside only in case of emergency.

Places for meetings and exchange, such as cultural institutions or churches, are closed. Many are suffering greatly as a result. Many are also worried about their children and grandchildren.

We want to express our solidarity with them in this time with a little attention and gesture of humanity.

Gianna Wabner, President of Live To Love-Germany, feels it is important to show respect and love to the elderly: "The great value of their individual and collective life experience has been given less and less importance here in the West. A regrettable development, which in this time again finds a corrective, which hopefully remains with us all."

Young and old from the team are very creative in many ways: some make soaps, others sew cotton masks, children paint greeting cards with best wishes for health and still others have provided small financial donations that have been used entirely for further additions to the bags.

Members of the team visit the elderly and people from at-risk groups alone or in pairs and distribute the gift bags, along with masks and information on how to use them. This is done, of course, with face masks and the required safe distance. Locations for Live To Love Care are Hamburg and East Westphalia . We also offer shopping assistance to the people we have visited.

We thank all the volunteers and donors who contributed!

SchnippschnappRecently we received a great donation from Nemat Alizadeh from the tailor shop Schnipp-Schnapp in Hamburg-Winterhude - he sewed 60 masks on a voluntary basis - thank you very much!
