Care - action for homeless women and men in February 2021

On the occasion of the birthday of the Gyalwang Drukpa, founder of the international humanitarian network Live To Love, we carried out two Live To Love CARE actions: for elderly people and for the homeless.

The CARE team again came up with something very nice for the gift bags: Cherry pit pillows! Cherry pits not only provide seeds for new trees, but are also a very sustainable alternative to hot water bottles or heat patches. If you heat the pillow at 180 degrees in the oven, the pits give off heat for a long time and continuously. Very effective against cramps, muscle stiffness and pain relieving.

A CARE team of two then promptly met a woman on the street in the Winterhude district who told us about her severe back pain and was indescribably happy about the pillow.

We carried heavy shopping bags home to another woman who was sitting exhausted on a bench - there we added a CARE bag, to which she reacted very happily.

After the visit of the elderly, we even received a call on the Live To Love phone of the CARE initiative from a man who expressed his gratitude that we had thought of him.

In addition, a team of two handed over dozens of CARE bags to social workers at the "Kemenate" in Hamburg - a shelter for homeless women. Here, they receive help for everyday life in a variety of ways. Their bags were filled with hygiene articles, food and homemade bread. Contents that they need most at the moment. We wish all the women on the streets happiness, health and a safe roof over their heads!

On Hamburg's streets we met some more homeless men: A man who had traveled directly by bus from India to Hamburg, a family from Romania, a man who has been living on the streets of Hamburg for twelve years, and so far has found zero way out of the cycle of "no apartment, no job".

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Aßmann-Uhlig from Brietlingen from the bottom of our hearts - she lovingly sewed, filled and donated the cherry pit cushions; also the organic farm Weßling from Neuenkirchen for the fruit donations and Evelyn Bruder from the Linden pharmacy in Hörstel-Riesenbeck, for the generous donation of hand creams.

Live To Love connects people of all ages and generations - everyone wants to be happy - may these wishes come true!
