Behind this hashtag is an action for the irrigation of trees in times of climate change.
Street artists from Germany and England have created great colorful motifs for irrigation bags on the initiative of the green energy provider "E wie EINFACH". With inspiring messages such as "Water is life" or "You have two homes: Earth & Family.Take care of them" or "Without rain there is no rainbow", they know how to motivate residents and passers-by to pick up a watering can and fill the bags with water.
Since we are very much concerned with the consequences of climate change, tree death and deforestation, an area was deliberately chosen where the forest is still pristine and largely spared the effects of climate change. There are many lakes and enough water here - the "rich" green tones of the leaves bear witness to this and there is hardly any visible damage from the drought in this area.
90 liters of water fit into a bag that has a membrane from which the trees are supplied with water "drop by drop".
The first actions initially took place in the Ruhr region - then "#artfortrees" was to be expanded to Hamburg: Rudi from the UrbanStreet Gallery in the Hanseatic city built the bridges for a cooperation between "E wie EINFACH" and Live To Love: He had become aware of us through the tree plantings.
We are very happy about this promising and meaningful cooperation! The first water bags have already been placed at the ginkgo trees planted in June in Alstertal - and already after the short time we can say: They are just great and reliable for the necessary water supply of freshly planted trees. Today the project was officially presented at a press meeting.
We have met wonderful people who are committed to the well-being of the trees in a very individual way and with a lot of heart: Our great appreciation for this idea, dear team of "E wie einfach", the street artists for the lively and creative implementation and to Rudi for the mediation and warm hospitality!
