Start-up for the Bike Yatra in Northern Europe

Big surprise: The Gyalwang Drukpa, founder of the international and secular Live To Love movement, honored Live To Love Germany with an unofficial visit from August 4. - 7. 2023!

The Gyalwang Drukpa in Hamburg: Bike Yatra in the Hanseatic City

All the team leads and volunteers who spontaneously joined us could hardly believe their luck when the Gyalwang Drukpa actually showed up for a meeting at our center. The planned Bike Yatra in Europe, which will take place at the end of May next year, received special attention as a highlight topic.
For a photo shoot, a bike tour through the HafenCity, to one of the planted trees of the Gyalwang Drukpa was initiated super spontaneously and enthusiastically.

The Gyalwang Drukpa, the Kung Fu nuns and Drukpa monks, have already traversed many thousands of kilometers through the Himalayan region - both on foot and by bike - to raise awareness of climate protection and equality under the umbrella of Live To Love.

"My first impression of this little bike ride was amazing. The respect that drivers and traffic show to cyclists is really great. Very different from our hometown and our country. I have long prayed and wished that our own country will soon be so educated and able to provide all these facilities for cyclists and pedestrians. God knows how long it will take. I hope and trust that it should not take that long for our politicians to wake up and take action to provide all these amenities to the citizens."

Planting trees and Kung Fu training

Next year it will finally happen in Europe. The Start Up BIKE YATRA NORD will lead from Hamburg to Copenhagen. It will be multicolored and colorful. Besides cycling through a beautiful landscape, the Kung Fu nuns will also offer meditations and Kung Fu training sessions and we want to plant trees at some places along the route.
By the way, in the near future there will be pilgrimages by bike in other European countries, such as France, Spain and England.

Our heartfelt gratitude and joy flows to the Gyalwang Drukpa and Lopön Tingdzin La for the precious and extremely inspiring visit to Hamburg, which was a very great gift.
