PRESSE / BIKE YATRA 2024

LOVE IS ACTION

// 12. June 2024

"I continue to carry the Yatra bike to London, Oxford and other places. I hope that I will be able to fulfill my wishes, even though I have a small shoulder problem and the doctors recommend that I don't put any weight on my shoulder."
The Gyalwang Drukpa

Happiness

“Give unconditionally, expecting nothing in return - as soon as you place conditions on your generosity, you place conditions on your happiness.”
The Gyalwang Drukpa

European Bike Yatras

“I’m carrying on Bike Yatra to London, to Oxford and other places. Hopefully, I will be able to fulfil my wishes, though I have a bit of shoulder problem and doctors are recommending me not to stress my shoulder.”

Copenhagen!!!

// 6. and 7. June 2024

After 490 km, the European Bike Yatra led by Gyalwang Drukpa reached Copenhagen from Hamburg. The group was welcomed by Danish environmentalists and representatives in the Parliament building, where there was an inspiring exchange about climate goals and green living.
The participants of the Bike Yatra also enjoy the daily meditations and talks of the Gyalwang Drukpa as well as the presence of the Kung Fu nuns, who are known worldwide for their courageous humanitarian work.

PRECIOUS TEACHINGS UNDER THE WIDE SKY

// 5. June 2024

Immeasurably fortunate conditions: Every morning we receive profound teachings in meditation from the Gyalwang Drukpa.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2024

We have been on the road with the Gyalwang Drukpa and the Kung Fu nuns since May 27th, cycling towards our destination Copenhagen in the cause of environmentally friendly travel, climate protection and equality - and have planted numerous trees along the way.

Every single day: fantastic!

// 3. June 2024

"How do you do? We're just having a lunch break here. Almost every day, it's just fantastic for us.
Whenever we need a break, there's a place to rest, darlings. Whenever we need a lunch break, there's a suitable place for lunch! What else can we expect? I would like to thank Live To Love Germany as the organizer for studying so well how to take us all on a scenic journey, and not via the Autobahn or expressways.“

European Bike Yatra - Day 6

// 2. June 2024

"A wonderful good morning to everyone. These are the photos from yesterday morning when we were on a beach in Germany before we crossed the border. We did a so-called meditation and talked about the topic of meditation. I felt very inspired to chat about meditation by the sea! The great master Tilopa said very clearly that meditation should be like an ocean, and I think that has something to do with my mind as well, and I tried to tell my friends a little bit about it.
I've been meditating since I was eight years old, but I don't have many things to say about meditation. I always feel weird when I talk about meditation. I think as soon as it comes to the highest level of so-called meditation, you can't express it with the verb. It is even beyond expression and imagination. I literally struggle to find the right words to express it beautifully. Do I mumble for months and years just to kill time?"
The Gyalwang Drukpa

1. EUROPEAN BIKE YATRA GOES ROSTOCK!

After the meditation practice and a profound lecture by Gyalwang Drukpa, the journey continued yesterday to Rostock.
The distinguished guests from the Himalayas and the Foundation were welcomed by the Senator for the Environment, Dr. Ute Fischer-Gäde, with very warm words, which were based on a great sense of solidarity.
In her speech, Dr. Fischer-Gäde emphasized the need for joint efforts to preserve life on this earth. The Gyalwang Drukpa, the Kung Fu Nuns and Live To Love Germany have planted 3 more climate trees. The city of Rostock not only supported the tree planting with a beautiful area, but also with a well-equipped team from the Parks Department.
We then cycled on through the Rostock Heath to the Baltic coast.
Today we take the ferry to Denmark and start the Danish part of our route to Copenhagen.

"I was told that this beach, or rather the sand, is very special and almost cures back and shoulder pain if you lie down and bury yourself for a while. Many members of our team suggested I lie down and bury my shoulder there for about 15 to 20 minutes. In my case, I felt accelerated pain, which could be a very good sign! Anyway, I am doing very well. Please don't worry about me. Most of the pictures are from just now, we passed a very famous beach after the ferry crossing to Denmark."

Our fantastic catering team makes everyone happy!

// 30. May 2024

They shoulder an immense amount of work in the background, dismantle the kitchen and the associated pavilions in the morning and set them up again in the evening, prepare everything fresh and extremely tasty - organic, of course - and are fully occupied all day in providing us with the best possible food.
THANK YOU for your wonderful care and perfect sports nutrition.

European Bike Yatra – 3rd Day: arrived at Lake Schwerin!

// 29. May 2024

On the way to Copenhagen, the Gyalwang Drukpa, the Kung Fu Nuns, Live To Love Germany and all participants of the Bike Yatra were invited by Mayor Rainer Kloth to Klein Trebbow - a community near Lake Schwerin. A maple tree was planted here as a sign of solidarity in the commitment to climate protection. For many years, Rainer Kloth has been very successful in promoting effective and innovative climate protection concepts in his community and has initiated many other sustainable projects.
The guided tour through the castle garden was very impressive. The meaningful tea house and the sculpture gave us a lot of insight into the mayor's foresight.
Rainer Kloth did not miss the opportunity to accompany us for a few kilometers by bike and show us the way past some special places in the municipality.
The day was crowned by another tree planting of two climate trees by the Gyalwang Drukpa, the Kung Fu Nuns and Live To Love Germany at the destination of the 3rd day.
We are very fulfilled by a rich day in every respect and many happy encounters.

Kick-off with reception at Hamburg City Hall

// 27. May 2024

The very first European Bike-Yatra under the direction of Gyalwang Drukpa has begun. It kicked off with a reception at Hamburg City Hall, hosted by Hamburg's 2nd Mayor Katharina Fegebank. After a press conference at Flaggenplatz with the Kung Fu nuns, the participants set off with the support of the Hamburg police. They cycled through Schleswig-Holstein to Lütjensee, where a tree planting was also on the day's program.

THE TREES WERE PLANTED FOR THE OPENING OF THE 1st EUROPEAN BIKE YATRA!

// 26. May 2024

The 1st European Bike Yatra picks up speed! Today, the Gyalwang Drukpa, the Kung Fu nuns and the Live To Love team planted the first 3 bluebell trees. These are also described as climate trees because they store an incredible amount of CO2 and release oxygen - and are therefore very good for the climate.
After this activity for Mother Earth and the next generations, we went on a first test ride with the new bikes to familiarize ourselves with them.
A great day with all the best omens is coming to an end and we are all extremely happy.
Tomorrow we leave for Copenhagen!
